Review of the Show:
I, personally, never lived during the 90s when Goo Goo Dolls were in their prime as I was born in the early 2000s, but being raised by parents who were, this show was pure nostalgia.
Despite the unbearable , Tennessee heat, the whole amphitheater was rocking right along with the band on stage. The show opened with a the checkered screen displaying various news broadcasts, mesmerizing the crowd into a hush before the screens burst to life with light as Goo Goo Dolls took to the stage, causing the hush to become an uproar of anticipation and applause.
The entire set simply radiated the energy of what I imagine a classic, rock concert would be like. There was this unmistakable buzz or excitement floating through the air and even during the slower sections of the setlist, the energy of the crowd never seemed to fade.
I was an honor to witness one of the greatest bands perform live and I, along with the thousands that attended, couldn’t help but marvel at such a show.
