Review of the Show:

I remember being six years old, sitting on the floor with my little siblings, watching these four guys on our tv have a blast as we sang along… fourteen years later, I’m still singing along.

To say I was excited for this show would be an understatement. I wasn’t allowed to go to concerts until I was thirteen and I had to suffer through all my friends talking about how much fun they would have when my favorite artists would be in town. Now I’m twenty and when I got the opportunity to FINALLY see Big Time Rush live in concert, you best believe I took it.

Despite Tennessee’s weather delaying the show and opening acts with lightning, the group of four took to the stage to face the roaring crowd, opening the show with “Can’t Get Enough”, the namesake of the tour itself. From my view in the photo pit, watching the boyband rise from the elevated, tiered stage in dramatic lighting already satisfied almost every expectation I had for the show.

Big Time Rush progressed through their set with an addictive energy. They were moving about the stage with the same boyish charm fans of the show remember. Even for a part of their encore during “Windows Down”, Logan Henderson and James Maslow ran up the steps on the stage and impressively backflipped for the audience!

It’s hard for well-known artists that genuinely care for the fans, especially at bigger venues, to make sure everyone feels the love. Big Time Rush did an impeccable job in regards to crowd interaction. Whether that included interacting with the photographers and videographers, to inviting four lovely women from the crowd on stage to serenade for “Worldwide”, to Kendall Schmidt jumping on the barricade and laying on fans, or running off the stage, through the mass of people and all the way back to the Lawn, the band of four made sure that everyone felt included.

Speaking of inclusivity, the setlist consisted of a good mix of BTR classics, newer songs, high energy bops and slower, acoustic melodies. & every member of Big Time Rush had a chance to showcase their skills. Carlos PenaVega closed out “Weekends” with a ukelele solo, James Maslow played keys during “Invisble”, Logan Henderson showed off his strong note duration during “Forget You Now” & “Boyfriend”, and Kendal Schmidt played guitar along with “Shot In The Dark”.

For someone who never got to attend a concert during the peak of boy bands in the late 2000s, I can, with certainty, say that I was positively satisfied. From the iconic, synchronized choreography, to the multiple outfit changes, or screaming at the top of lungs along with fans who shared the sentiment, I highly suggest no one should ever skip out on a Big Time Rush concert.
