Review of the Show:
On June 15th in Nashville, TN, goth metalcore band Vampires Everywhere kicked off on tour alongside LIMBS and Across the White Water Tower in support of Alesana. Though the venue was small, the energy of the crowd was palpable. As soon as the lights dimmed to an atmospheric red and a loud bass thumped throughout the room, the crowd was buzzing in excitement. The moment the members of Vampires Everywhere stepped on the stage, cheers erupted.
With a name like Vampires Everywhere, there’s a certain vibe one might expect from the band, and they delivered on every single aspect. Between their punk sound, the moody lighting, and the dark clothing with silver chains worn by all members of the band, the entire ensemble was exactly what you would envision when thinking of such a band.
The set was filled with non-stop energy from start to finish. Additionally, each member’s stage presence was top notch. Their performance demanded the audience’s attention, and even the most stoic person was nodding their head along to the beat. When vocalist Michael “Vampire” Orlando told the audience to jump, the audience jumped. The crowd was especially engaged and excited during their rendition of “Teenage Dream,” a song from pop artist Katy Perry. However, in the hands of Vampires Everywhere, it was turned into a heavy and head-bang worthy anthem. Nearly the entire crowd was singing along or dancing to it.
At the end of their set, Vampires Everywhere closed with the iconic song “Cry Little Sister,” which is heard in the movie The Lost Boys—the same movie that Vampires Everywhere got their name from. It was the perfect close to an energetic, visually artistic, and all-around fun show. Vampires Everywhere are not a band to miss, so be sure to catch them if they’re touring in your city!
