Review of the Show:

Hes, Shes, and Theys, the day has finally come: Ava Max is “On Tour (Finally)”!! Max is halfway through her first ever headlining tour and it is going off with a BANG!

As a prominent advocate and member of the LGBTQ+ community, Max strives to ensure that her shows are a safe space for all. & she does a wonderful job of doing so. You don’t have to move all around the venue to see a diverse range of people, a quick scan from a corner will do the job. It was a beautiful thing to see a myriad of different attendees all jumping, singing, and dancing along with Max’s performance. That’s the thing about concerts: like any public place, say an airport or even Downtown Broadway, you get all walks of life. However, at a show, there is an unspoken understanding: “We are all here to witness someone we admire up on stage, we are all here to have a great time, so let’s have a great time!” It’s unifying, it’s gratifying, & when the artist is up there doing their thing & doing it fantastically, it’s all more worthwhile.

Max is not only a talented musician, but also a wonderful performer. Like every show I attend, my opinion of the performance is dependent on three main aspects: stage presence, crowd interaction, and overall energy. Max excels in each category. Unlike many of the local artists you may find in the Honky Tonks down on Broadway who simply stay fixated on one spot, Max moves about the stage with an enthusiastic energy, accompanied with her four dancers. There is nothing mundane about the choreography either. Every move they make is reflected back into the crowd as the audience moves along with Max & the beat of the music.

Max’s crowd interaction is impeccable. A fan from the crowd was handpicked & enjoyed the opportunity to join Max on stage during “Maybe You’re The Problem”. They were instructed to sit in “The Problem Chair” as they were showered with attention from Max & her crew & even singing into the mic for part of the song. But her affection doesn’t stop there. Constantly would she refer to members of the audience by sweet names that would result in a joyous outcry or ecstatic expression.

The entire show was high energy, fun, and amazingly glamourous unbelievable. Ava Max is worthy of all the love she receives in her own right, but to see her perform live is an experience in itself. I, personally, will not be forgetting this particular show anytime soon.
