Review of the Show:
Korean pop group P1Harmony made the eighth stop of their US Tour ‘P1lustage H: UTOP1A’ in Nashville on June 3, 2024. Five of the six members performed in Nashville’s iconic Opry House for the second time after making history last year as the first ever K-Pop group to play the venue. Though Jiung, one of the six members, was unable to make it due to a still-healing injury, the remaining five (Keeho, Soul, Jongseob, Intak, and Theo) still put on an incredible show!
Despite the torrential downpour of rain outside, fans were still lined up in every direction to get into the venue! Lines moved quickly once the doors opened, and by 7:50pm, P1Harmony were taking the stage. They played a total of twenty-six songs, including five spectacular solo stages and a five song encore that included an aisle-walk.
Theo’s solo stage was first with a live rendition of Stephen Sanchez’s “Until I Found You”, during which he both sang and played guitar. Fans lit the room with cell phone flashlights, thus creating a beautiful atmosphere. Intak was next with a vocal and dance performance of Victoria Monet’s “On My Mama”. This stage really showcased a part of Intak’s personality that the fans do not get to see often. The skillful choreography mixed with his undeniable stage presence left fans screaming.
Immediately following Intak’s stage was Jongseob’s cover of A$AP Rocky’s “Praise the Lord”. Despite being the youngest member of the group, Jongseob left no room for disappointment. With his modified lyrics and excitable stage presence, fans were enamored with him! The fans especially seemed to love the addition of Jongseob’s iconic line from P1Harmony’s hit song “Killin It”, as they all cheered incomprehensibly loud after they heard, “my root came 2005.”
Soul maintained the electric atmosphere with freestyle choreography and a show of lights that captured fans attention from the get-go. Soul is known for his unique, incredibly complex dance style. His stage was both a show of skill and athleticism. The group’s leader, Keeho, finished up the solo stages with a rendition of SZA’s “Kill Bill” that both engaged fans and showed off his undeniable vocal skill.
The show continued afterward with a mix of both new and old songs. They took several different breaks to talk and engage with the crowd, and even invited a fan to sing “BFF” with them! They wrapped up the show with a five song encore. During the second song of the encore, a fan favorite called “I See U”, all five members walked up and down the aisles to have up close interactions with fans beyond the first few rows.
There is no doubt that P1Harmony will continue to make waves as they move through the last few stops of their US tour. If UTOP1A happens to pass through your city, grab tickets– this is not a show you want to miss! The fans, the energy, and the group themselves were unforgettable.
