Review of the Show:
On October 6th, I was at the coolest place in the world (Suki Waterhouse’s concert at Amp Ballantyne in Charlotte, NC !!)
This has to be one of my favorite concerts i’ve been to so far!!! Not only was Suki’s set amazing, but she had amazing openers!
The concert started off with Danielle Durack and she wowed us with her vocals! Her set was mostly acoustic and if you really love more of that vibe, she’s definitely an artist I recommend seeing. I love that I could really feel the emotion behind the words she sang! After the show, I added “Broken Wings” to my playlist, because it was absolutely beautiful to listen live! I also loved her cover of ABBA’s “Dancing Queen”! I loved her calm energy and the way she drew us all in with her voice. Overall, I would love to see what she does in the future and 100% would love to see her live again!!
Suki’s second opener was Carol Ades. First thing I observed was how interactive she is with the crowd and I loved it. She would in between songs, answer a question from fans in the crowd or include some type of humor in her back stories for the next song she would play.
I really enjoyed “26” from her setlist, and it also got added to my playlist! it was beautifully written and i’m glad I got to hear it live! I’ll even be honest, I teared up just a bit while really observing the lyrics because it’s just a song that is so real and makes you reflect! I recommend both listening to her music and going to see her live!!
Suki’s set was AMAZING as expected! Absolute Perfection! From the lighting (that perfectly shined on her sparkly outfit) to the way she was expressive as she moved; She’s just so mesmerizing to look at while performing and she quite literally glows.
She had fans happily singing along when she did a Fade Into You x Brutally x Lover cover! It was amazing to hear and the transition into the different songs were so smooth. Personally, I loved hearing “Johanna” it’s definitely in my top 3 favorite songs from her! As well as “To Love” and “Good Looking” those seemed to be the crowd favorites as well!
Overall, It’s definitely a concert one should go to at least once in their life! The energy is amazing, the fans are so kind, and the music is too good! I’m so happy I went and this is a concert to cross off my bucket list :)
